Code-Savvy. Hardware-Smart. Always Curious.
I’m not a full-time developer, but I can hold my own in a codebase. My real strength lies in understanding systems—how things connect, run, and break.
I thrive in the space between code and hardware: deploying servers, automating configs, reading logs, and debugging broken setups.
I can spin up a stack manually—but if you ask me, nothing beats the elegance of Docker. Quick, clean, and reproducible. I’ll take containerized deployments any day of the week.
I’ve manually set up web servers, configured virtual hosts, dealt with package conflicts, and survived dependency hell. But these days? I’ll Docker it.
Containers let me move fast, test ideas, and keep my environments clean. Whether it’s spinning up a Minecraft server, a media stack, or a DNS testing lab—Docker lets me focus on what I’m doing, not why Apache decided to die again.
Hey there! I'm Kevin 👋
I'm a tech enthusiast who's Code-Savvy and Hardware-Smart, always curious about how things connect, run, and break. Based in Wolvega, the Netherlands, I thrive in the space between code and hardware: deploying servers, automating configs, reading logs, and debugging broken setups.
My real strength lies in understanding systems. I believe in the power of robust infrastructure and elegant solutions to complex problems. The thrill of making disparate components work together seamlessly is what drives me. And when it comes to deployment, give me containers any day!
Love getting hands-on with hardware, building PCs, or setting up home lab projects. There's always something new to learn or improve.
When not deep in configs, I enjoy a good strategy game or exploring virtual worlds. Currently enjoying Factorio and Paradox Interactive titles.
Crafting worlds and guiding players through epic Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. Currently running multiple ongoing adventures!
Constantly exploring new technologies, reading tech blogs, or diving into documentation. The learning never stops in this field!
Getting away from the screen to cycle through the Dutch landscapes or explore nature helps me recharge and find new perspectives.

My first non-internship IT job; a very nice company, and it's great to be working with people. Sometimes it's a bit quiet, but that's nice too. We'll see how long I stay here, but definitely not dissatisfied.

I'm a proponent of gaining experience in fields other than your own. That's why I chose to take a gap year working in service at Van der Valk Wolvega. Did everything from serving to banqueting, handling payments, and training/supervising new staff. My permanent position as a bartender was always my favorite, offering more interaction with people, though partly behind the scenes. However, the biggest compliment remains all the praise from my supervisors and the hotel owner.

Internship at the ICT helpdesk, handling tickets, interacting with colleagues, assisting staff, and maintaining ICT infrastructure. My time here taught me a lot about responsibility in ICT and what the real work environment looks like. I also saw a great deal of all internal procedures, projects, and necessities required to keep something as large as a hospital running.

Delivering mail for the local area. This included tax-related mail, small mailbox packages, voting ballots for elections, and general mail.

Internship at Karwei Wolvega, handling everything from sales to warehouse check-ins and shelf stocking. It was my first real job experience, immediately a long-term one, and one I always enjoyed greatly.

My own small business, necessary for my freelance projects in my spare time. For now, it's purely for handling client work; who knows what the future will bring. It's always useful to have something for myself.

I recreated a full Habbo Retro environment using Plus EMU, containerized for rapid deployment. This project involved automating multiple services—Apache, database, emulator, and CMS—into a clean, maintainable Docker Compose stack. It was a nostalgic passion project, but also a hands-on exercise in coordinating legacy systems inside modern deployment tools.
Built a Discord bot to manage session scheduling for my D&D campaign. It automatically announces scheduled sessions, reminds players on the day, and gives a 30-minute final call. It also integrates with our existing calendar setup and offers lightweight admin commands. Originally a one-off, it evolved into a persistent utility across multiple servers.
Developed a spoof cybersecurity platform: the Breach Incident & Tech Communications Hub (B.I.T.C.H.). It started as a joke, but ended as a polished mockup with real UI/UX considerations and frontend implementation. I used Docker to streamline testing and focused on clean UI through XD and frontend code.
Coins & Crowns Online is an ambitious multiplayer sandbox project that blends dynamic worldbuilding, player-driven economies, and rich roleplay systems. Developed as a long-term experiment in modular design and scalable server infrastructure, it’s a fusion of game mechanics, storytelling, and systems engineering.
The project explores custom gameplay loops, decentralized rule enforcement, and a deep focus on emergent interaction between players—powered by both backend systems and in-world tools. It's a living world shaped by its community.
